We are seeking a creative and strategic Digital Publishing Manager to lead the coordination, delivery, and monitoring of our internal and external web communications. As a principal financial and economic adviser to the Government, our organisation relies on high-quality digital storytelling and seamless information delivery to support a prosperous economy.

In this role, you will be the primary custodian of our digital voice, ensuring our content is engaging, accessible, and strategically aligned across all platforms.

Core Digital Publishing Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic direction and evolution of the Intranet, including conducting content audits and user research to enhance engagement

  • Manage the end-to-end content management workflow, providing expert authoring and upload support to the wider organisation.

  • Provide a high level of customer service by adopting a user-focused approach to all web publishing activities
  • Ensure all digital assets strictly comply with the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and relevant legislative requirements

  • Empower staff by building and delivering specialized web publishing training programs across the cluster

  • Manage website reporting requirements via Google Analytics to evaluate audience engagement and inform future content strategies


Technical & Operational Management

  • Drive the operational management of external-facing websites, focusing on continual improvement and user feedback

  • Utilise your sound knowledge of Content Management Systems to manage and configure platforms (experience with SharePoint, Drupal, or Squiz is preferred).

  • Apply an understanding of frontend technologies, such as HTML and CSS, to support site functionality and design
  • Lead digital projects by preparing business cases, managing budgets, and coordinating with development agencies to ensure outcomes are achieved on time

  • Effectively collaborate with business areas and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and implement online solutions that meet business needs


Key Requirements:

  • Drive the operational management of external-facing websites, focusing on continual improvement and user feedback
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional knowledge and experience.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing digital communications products within a large, complex organisation.

  • Ability to act as a professional role model, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
